Eligibility and Admission

As per AICTE, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and Kerala Government rules. The following is the admission procedure for the academic year 2016 - 2017. 50% of the total students in B.Tech courses are set apart for centralized allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. In the remaining 50% of the management seats, 5% seats under NRI quota are given to children and dependants of NRIs on the basis of marks obtained for physics, chemistry and mathematics in 12th standard. Remaining 45% seats are given on the basis of merit by ranking applicants on the basis of marks obtained for P C M in 12th standard and for Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination.



Academic(Engineering Courses):- Pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least 45 percent marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry / equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grade.
Candidate who have Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognised equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years from an institution approved by AICTE, securing fifty percent marks in the final year Diploma Examination. (Lateral Entry).
Candidates shall be qualified in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations of Govt. Of Kerala.
Architecture Course:- Plus Two or equivalent examination from a recognised Board with Mathematics as a subject of study by securing 50% marks in aggregate OR International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subjects of examination.
In addition to the academic eligibility, candidates who score 40% or 80 marks out of 200 (for all categories) in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) will be considered for admission to B.Arch. course. There is no relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category of candidate.
There is no provision for lateral admission to the second year or at any stage during the 5 years course in Architecture.
Age:- Applicants should have completed 17 years on 31st December 2016, No relaxation of age will be allowed.
Nationality:- Candidates must be citizens of India.

How To Apply

Formal Application forms for admission can be obtained from the College office in person on payment of ₹500/- or by post on payment of ₹530/- by demand draft. Application forms can also be downloaded from the website of the College http://www.payyanurcet.org. Such Applications have to be submitted along with a DD of ₹500/- in favour of “The Principal, College of Engineering and Technology- Payyanur” and payable at Payyanur.
